The NEW YORK FIRE PATROL, INC., incorporated in the Spring of 2010, follows in the footsteps of the now defunct New York Fire Patrol previously operated by the New York Board of Fire Underwriters. The primary function of the Patrol has not changed, it is to prevent and discover fires, while providing property damage mitigation services.Without any direct connection to the former Patrol or the Insurance Industry, and relying on public contributions and both corporate and governmental grants, the corporation undertaking is to continue the proud service of the former Patrol in protecting property located within buildings that are or recently were on fire from damage that would be otherwise caused by water, smoke and carbon monoxide.The new Fire Patrol is being spearheaded by retired NYPD Police Officer Arnold Roma, whose son Fire Patrolman Keith Roma, was killed in the line of duty on September 11, 2001 while helping to evacuate occupants from the North Tower of The World Trade Center.Still in it’s organizational stage, The New York Fire Patrol Inc. looks forward to eventually restoring Fire Patrol service levels to those previously provided by the “old” Fire Patrol just prior to it’s dissolution. It anticipates employing both full and part time paid staff. A fundraiser breakfast benefiting the New York Fire Patrol will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 0900. It will take place on the 49th Floor at 7 World Trade Center in lower Manhattan. The theme of the event is “Celebrating Everyday Heroes”. We will hear from several high profile political and public service figures. This will be a historic occasion that you will not want to miss. Please tell your friends about this.Ticket prices are $911 for a table of ten and $105 individually.The symbolism of $911 should be self evident. The amount of $105 is not. It is the amount that Fire Patrolman Keith Roma, who perished in the WTC attack, was found to have on his person when his remains were recovered.
